Registry Status Codes

Reference 130. -- Registry Status Definitions

Ayrshire Breeders Association
OA First generation grade up animals. Only females can have registry status OA. These animals are currently identified with registration numbers in the 369 series.
PR Second generation grade up animals. Only females can have registry status PR. These animals are currently identified with registration numbers in the 379 series.
HR Fully registered males and females. Third generation grade up animals will also contain an "HR" registry status.
XX Foreign registered animals.


Brown Swiss Cattle Breeders Association
RF Initial grade up animal. Only females are eligible for this program. One parent must be a registered Brown Swiss and the second parent can be any dairy animal. Thus, these may be crossbred animals. These animals are currently identified with a 365xxxxxx series registration number. Please note, that not all animals must start with this step, as characteristic grade Brown Swiss may go directly into the ID step (next step).
ID Will be the next step which may be either (a) an offspring of a RF dam and a registered Brown Swiss sire or may be (b) an identified and inspected grade Brown Swiss (original animal) possessing typical Brown Swiss color and characteristics. These females (b) would have either unknown Brown Swiss parents or may have one registered parent. Only females are eligible for this program step. These animals are currently identified with a 369xxxxxx series registration number.
IE Will be the next step which will always have an ID (369xxxxxx) dam and a registered Brown Swiss sire. Again only females are eligible for this step. These animals are currently identified with a 3793xxxxx series registration number.
HR Will be for fully registered animals. The dam may be either an IE or HR registry status animal. If the dam is an IE, only female offspring may be registered. The sire will always be HR status and Brown Swiss.


American Guernsey Association
RF Recorded Female - Initial grade up animal. Only females are eligible for this program. She must have one purebred Guernsey parent (registered or unregistered) and the other parent must be another dairy breed. Thus, these may be crossbred animals. These animals are identified with a 360 series.
GT Guernsey Type - This generation requires Guernsey appearance. This female must be sired by a purebred Guernsey bull out of an RF animal. The animal in this step must be a minimum 75% Guernsey. If adequate records are provided the initial animal may enter as a GT animal. These animals are identified with registration numbers in the 365 series.
PR Provisional Register - A female out of an GT female sired by a registered bull. These animals are identified with the registration numbers in the 376 series.
GR Genetic Recovery - A female out of a PR female and a registered bull. Bulls may be registered out of this generation. These animals are identified with registration numbers in the regular herdbook series.
HR Fully registered males and females. Third generation grade up animals will also contain an "HR" registry status.


Holstein Association
00-99 Indicates percent Registered Holstein Ancestry (RHA). Values from 93 to 99 will be used to indicate animals previously known as Qualified. Values from 00 thru 92 will be females previously known as Identified Holstein Female (IHF).

American Jersey Cattle Association
OA First generation grade up animals. Only females can have registry status OA. One or both parents may be grade, unregistered or unknown. These animals are currently identified with registration numbers in the 368 series. We will not issue new numbers in the 368 series once we have implemented American ID.
PR Second generation grade up animals. Only females can have registry status PR. The dam will be either from the 368 number series or OA registry status, and the sire will be a registered Jersey (HR). These animals are currently identified with registration numbers in the 379 series. We will not issue new numbers in the 379 series once we have implemented American ID.
GR Third generation grade up animals. Only females can have registry status GR. The dam will be either from the 379 number series or PR registry status, and the sire will be a registered Jersey (HR). These animals are currently identified with numbers from our regular herdbook series.
J1 All Registry Status J1 animals will be females. All their sires will be registered Jersey bulls. Their dams will be identified with their non-Jersey breed code, country code and unique ID. The ID may be a registration number, American ID number, USDA eartag, or a default ID created for unknown dams. Only female progeny can be recorded from J1 dams. Their progeny must be sired by registered Jersey bulls. The progeny will be assigned Registry Status OA.
HR Fully registered males and females. The dam will be either GR or HR registry status, and the sire will be registered Jersey (HR).

American Dairy Goat Association
PB Purebred registered males and females of all U.S. recongnized dairy goat breeds
AM American registered males and females of all U.S. reconginzed dairy goat breeds. Animals are 87.5% of a single breed and meet breed type. Historically, these were indicated with a leading "A" or "18" in the ID
RG Recorded grade females of all U.S. reconginzed dairy goat breeds. First, second, and third generation grade up animals of all U.S. reconginzed dairy goat breeds, including Experimental breeds. Historically, these were indicated with a "G" in the ID
BR Males and females re-registered from the British registry of Alpine, Saanen, and Toggenburg dairy goat breeds. Historically, these were indicated with a leading "19" in the ID
ER Experimental registry for males and females. Product of mating PB, AM, and BR parents of different breeds, or straightbred offspring that do not meet breed type
